Startup Garage is an intensive, hands-on, project-based course in which student teams design and test new business concepts that address real-world needs.
Faculty reached out to us seeking comprehensive branding/iconography and increased ease of editing for all course materials. The challenges include several faculty using multiple platforms during the course and students submitting materials using Google Slides. A thoughtful user experience was needed.
To reduce the complexity collaboration and maintenance, we chose to narrow the number of production platforms to only Google apps and a WordPress website. We also created a distinct marketing brand with templates that enabled consistency and were easy to edit and reproduce.
It was also equally important to prioritize student continuity and understanding in the design strategy of materials. By including repeated icons, visual cues, expanded instructions, and links to outside resources, the products of our collaboration reinforce design and pedagogy best practices.
