Reminders
- Prepare to capture mid-quarter feedback from students. Collecting feedback is strongly encouraged as students regularly express appreciation for instructors who ask for and respond to feedback. Visit our website to learn more about how TLHub can help!
- Plan to set aside time for course evaluations at the end of the quarter. One of the simplest ways to ensure you get good and actionable course feedback is to carve out class time for students to complete their evaluations. We recommend you consider setting this time aside now so that you will be prepared at the end of the quarter. Reach out to us if you’d like a consultation on ways to capture course evaluations.
- Summer Canvas courses are no longer published for you. Please publish your summer courses when you are ready.
- Learn to pronounce your students’ names from within seatGEN. Click on seatGEN from within your Canvas course and click on the play button icon on a student’s seatGEN profile picture to hear them pronounce their name. SeatGEN can also generate profile cards that will help you get to know your students better. Ask your FA for more information.
“I identify two or three students in advance to speak up in class based on their professional background. But I don’t want to put them on the spot. So one of the things I might say is, ‘There is enough expertise in this classroom to give some examples of these concepts. Is there anyone here who has worked at Microsoft?’ — even though I know who in the class has worked at Microsoft. If that person raises their hand, I’ll invite them to share with the class.”
