October 27, 2020 – Teaching During the Election Workshop

Sorry we missed you! This event has passed.

To attend future events, see our event page for more information.

This fall, as a new U.S. president is elected mid-quarter, you may notice that your students’ learning or their classroom dynamics have been affected by the tension of the political moment. Research suggests that during sensitive or difficult events, even a small gesture of recognition from instructors is beneficial to students’ ability to learn and their general sense of well-being on campus. This session, facilitated by Sarah Soule and Pamela Levine, will share ways you can prepare for this political moment, from simple acts of acknowledgment to deliberately facilitated conversations.

Because we will aim to create a safe space for open conversation, this session will not be recorded.

This session is open to all GSB faculty and lecturers.
